Alican Gulsevin, Ph.D.

Alican Gulsevin got his Ph.D. from the University of Florida under the mentorship of Nicole Horenstein. During this period, Dr. Gulsevin worked on projects focusing on experimental and computational biochemistry. Following his graduate studies, Dr. Gulsevin continued his training at Vanderbilt University in Jens Meiler’s group as a postdoc for four years and as a Research Assistant Professor and the director of the Personalized Structural Biology Program for one year. In this five-year period, Dr. Gulsevin worked on many integrative structural biology projects that blended Rosetta, machine-learning-based methods, and experimental structural and functional data to develop models of biological systems.
The current focus of Dr. Gulsevin’s research involves method development with Rosetta, investigation of small molecule – protein and peptide – protein interactions, and development and application of methodology for the prediction of peptide – protein interactions using machine-learning-based methods.
